Welcome, 5G

The first steps of testing 5G were made back in 2018 at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona (MWC), when technology giant Huawei provided the core of 5G network based on microservices. Together with China Mobile, they continue to develop existing developments.

The first tests were made during the Olympic Games in South Korea in 2018. Mobile operator CT in cooperation with Ericsson provided the 5G network, Intel provided the 5G platform, and Samsung provided the 5G tablets for video demonstration in multiple locations and individual pavilions. The parade of drones, which moved across the sky in the form of Olympic rings was the thing remembered the most.

The fifth generation of wireless broadband technologies will represent the next phase of mobile communication standards. With its high bandwidth, ultra-low latency and dynamic network cut-off capabilities, 5G will open up huge new business opportunities for mobile operators offering a whole range of new services.
